Breakfast board-bread, ham, cheese & avocado

In Europe you will always find platters of various meats and cheeses for breakfast – especially in Germany.  Who needs to rely on just eggs and bacon to be your source of protein at breakfast?

I have taken this idea and added the beloved avocado for some healthy fat.  You can make this with any type of cheese, or cheeses, add salami or mortadella if it suits your fancy and even some fresh tomatoes (if delicious and in season).  And of course, this equally works with bagels, cream cheese, and salmon.  Let your creative ideas take flight.

Using different wooden boards also make your food display more interesting.  A variety of woods, colors and shapes create more beauty on the table.

thoughts&stories

Creating a little help-your-self food board is not only easy but a very gracious way for guests to select what suits their tastes.  I love adding different types of seasonal fruit, nuts, or anything else that complements the rest of the meal.
